Month in Review

Well its official, I have been working at the Wapato Police Department for a month and man has it been crazy and exciting. Here are some highlights:

1. Preparing my first grant application to get us 3 additional officers.

2. Being a part of a team from across the County attempting to find a county wide law enforcement system to streamline all of the different departments information.

3. Assisting with a child taken into protective custody. She was a screamer.

4. Learning Spillman, Protrak (Jail), and the ins and outs of working for a police department.

5. Becoming the ACCESS TAC, Audit Controller, Validator, Badge Hander-outer, CPL Issuer, Pistol Return Reviewer, Sex Offender Monitor, Community Event planner, Contact Person, Protection Order, Warrants and Juvenile Case data enterer, supervisor, and all sorts of other things.

The thing I love most about Wapato PD is the team approach. Not once have I felt that I am less of a contributer then the other staff or the officers, and I have been given a warm welcome from everyone here.

It has been a great month and I see myself growing into the position and gaining confidence each day.

Paint, Curtains & Wallpaper

Well its official, we close on the house in Zillah on April 13, and Dave and I couldn't be more excited.

I bought curtains today after much debating and searching. Dave had a strong opinion about the curtains (as did I) and just when I thought we would not agree, along came curtains we both love.

Our paint for the upstairs is all picked out, and we plan to paint on the 18th and 19th and move on the 25th. So things are moving super fast.

Dave is antiwallpaper, so there actually won't be any in the house once we are done, but isnt the title more catchy if I include it?

We are planning an open house on May 9th so people can have a look at the new place, so be looking for more details later.
