Jail Issue Underwear

Well I am about to begin Day 3 of my new career adventure. Days 1 and 2 were eventful but enjoyable and I learned a lot. I do think I am going to enjoy working for Wapato PD.

One of the things I learnt yesterday was the use of jail issue underwear.
Officer Sperle, our K9 Officer, came in and asked me for a new Criminal Citation book. No one was available so I started poking around attempting to locate the books with Sperle's assistance. A white cloth fell from one of the shelves in my area during the search and as I bent to pick it up discovered it was a LARGE pair of underwear. I asked (shocked) "shouldn't these be in the evidence room?" and Sperle told me I was responsible for them, since they were in my space.
On the floor they stayed as I grabbed a bottle of hand sanitizer and waited for Nona to get off the phone and offer an explanation for them.
As I pointed at the offending underwear Nona started to laugh and through her laughter she explained these were jail issue underwear that were never used as such, but made handy dusting clothes, and each person in our office had one.

P.S. Do not call them "panties", as panties and moist are banned words in this office. I can't wait to see what today brings.

Jail issue underware is one of the major reasons I would never go to jail~ I was a witness one day to underware changing day at KC Jail - Gross - say what size you want and you have to hand over your not clean ones for a trade. Wonder who the last wearer was...... I have shivers just thinking of it. The other reason I won't ever be in trouble is they say your name and weight on TV if you are on the run...... no me!! Glad you are doing well.
